Usage
Propyl disulfide, also known as dipropyl disulfide, has a strong onion and garlic aroma and is an important flavoring. Naturally found in malan, onion, garlic and fried peanuts, it can be used to formulate a variety of food flavors, especially in seasoning flavors.This product has onion and garlic flavor.
The chemical compound with CAS number 629-19-6, also known as dipropyl disulfide (DPDS), is used for research and experimental purposes:
- Scavenger of reactive oxygen species: DPDS can scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS) in cells.
- Prevents oxidative DNA damage: DPDS can prevent oxidative DNA damage caused by N-nitrosopiperidine (NPIP) and N-nitrosodibutylamine (NDBA).
- Antioxidative, anti-hyperlipidemic, and chemopreventive activities: DPDS exhibits these activities.
- Inhibits cholesterol synthesis: DPDS can inhibit cholesterol synthesis in vivo at low concentrations.
