D-Limonene Description
Colorless oily liquid. Pleasant and fresh orange aroma, no camphor and terpene smell. Under the influence of air and moisture, it can be oxidized into caraway terpenes and caraway alcohols, resulting in deterioration. Boiling point 177°C, flash point 46°C. Miscible with ethanol and most non-volatile oils; slightly soluble in glycerol, insoluble in water and propylene glycol. Natural products exist in more than 300 essential oils, especially citrus essential oils, such as orange oil (about 90%), lemon oil, tangerine oil, white lime oil, grapefruit oil, lime oil, neroli oil, orange leaf oil, elemi resin, caraway oil (about 40%), dill oil, fennel oil, celery oil (about 60%), etc.
D-Limonene Usage
Widely used as a natural fragrance component in soaps, detergents, and perfumes.
Acts as an eco-friendly solvent for cleaning and degreasing in industrial applications.
Used as a flavor additive in food, beverages, and chewing gum.
Serves as a key intermediate in the synthesis of carvone and other chemical derivatives.
Utilized in the formulation of botanical insecticides and pest repellents.
Employed in 3D printing for dissolving HIPS (High Impact Polystyrene) support structures.
