1. Mainly used to formulate flavors such as banana, cream, whiskey and cheese. It is also used as a solvent for extraction and a pigment diluent.

2. It is mainly used in the manufacture of n-butyl ester plasticizers of phthalic acid, aliphatic dibasic acid and phosphoric acid, which are widely used in various plastics and rubber products. It is also a raw material for producing butyraldehyde, butyric acid, butylamine and butyl lactate in organic synthesis.
